Program: A New Passage to India

Project term: 2010 to 2016

 

The Indo-German Centre for Sustainability is a joint project between the RWTH Aachen University in Germany as representative of a group of German universities (TU9 and Christian-Albrechts University Kiel) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in Chennai, India, which is hosting the centre. The Centre comprises four research areas of sustainability: water management, waste management, land use and energy. It is part of the DAAD initiative “A New Passage to India” and receives funding from the German Ministry for Education and Research through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Current research projects on sustainability issues are funded by the Government of India (DST). More on IGCS structure, staff and contact: www.igcs-chennai.org
