Volcanic Debris Avalanches
The book “Volcanic Debris Avalanches – from Collapse to Hazard” commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption, which was accompanied by a lateral collapse and debris avalanche. This event was a turning point in our understanding of the hummocky landscapes around volcanic edifices as it was the first, internationally available documentation of large-scale edifice collapse and resulting debris avalanche. In the decades since, hundreds of papers have been published on the topic. This book ( https://www.springer.com/de/book/9783030574109 ) is a state-of-the-art account written by colleagues from around the world:

Benjamin Bernard (Instituto Geofísico, Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito, Ecuador), Lee Siebert (Global Volcanism Program, Smithsonian Institute), Anja Dufresne (LIH, RWTH-Aachen) and colleagues are compiling a comprehensive database of volcanic debris avalanche deposits with the aim of making it available in an online depository. This project is an ongoing effort that started during the PhD times of Anja Dufresne and Benjamin Bernard:
