The Rock Mechanics group at the department of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology (LIH) focuses on understanding the rock mass behaviour through multi-disciplinary laboratory/in-situ methods applied to different areas including underground excavation and slope stability. In-depth rock mass characterization is carried out through use of remote sensing methods (photogrammetry and laser scanning) integrated with Discrete Fracture Network (DFN) and advanced numerical modelling.
