Geomechanics
The Geomechanics group at the department of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology (LIH) focuses on various aspects of experimental and computational geomechanics. The topics range from development of enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) including hydraulic stimulation, fracture propagation, induced seismicity to nuclear waste repositories. The main objective of this workgroup is to understand the thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) characteristics of underground structures with a strong focus on applied topics.
