BGE2022 - Review
Days of site selection 2022
From 8.6.-10.6.22 the LIH organized the BGE (Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung) conference "Days of Site Selection" in Aachen at the lecture hall center PPS. Over the three days, 178 participants were on site. On the first two days, with 164 participants each, the focus was on scientific exchange on the topics "THMC coupled processes", "safety analyses", "geological processes" and "repository concepts". On the third day with the public was involved and the current status of the site search was presented by the BGE. In order to give the broader public access to these topics, the 3rd day was live-streamed. A total of 77 papers were submitted as abstracts, which were presented either as oral presentations or posters over the three days. The abstracts were summarized in a conference volume. A diverse social program was provided. On the evening of the first day, there was a dinner at the "Recreation Society" and on the second day, a Science Slam was held. The Science Slam was live-streamed and can still be viewed on Youtube at (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxgvsdMl4lA).
Besides the organization, more or less the whole chair was somehow involved during the conference, either as a helper during the conference or as a presenter of the numerous contributions of the chair.
