Research Interests
I am investigating the hydro-mechanical response of hydraulic stimulation experiments in laboratory and field scale as part of the FEAR project. The FEAR project aims to improve our understanding of the subsurface processes that occur before, during and after an earthquake. To this end, a small earthquake is induced by fluid injection from the deep underground rock laboratory in the Bedretto Tunnel in Switzerland. Seismicity, pressure and strain response are recorded with a dense measurement network around the injection point.
I am involved in the development of stimulation schemes, preparation and conduction of the experiments and analysis of the resulting hydraulic data.
